
I really enjoyed this post. I never played any kind of video games as a child; I think the first time I saw a game controller was when I was in grade 10. But when I went off to university, I became friends with several gamers and they enlightened me on what exactly I was missing out on.
It was a rough start, but now I at least have the ability to hold a game controller properly and play several simple games like Mario Kart and Super Mario 64. But I was always teased a bit by my friends for my horrible motor skills both in real life and playing video games. They attributed it to my lack of video game play as a child.
I don’t know if that is true or not, but I do remember reading an article that specifically outlined that playing video games as a child can really benefit social development.
